  1. The first thing to consider in a LCD TV installation is the location of the screen and you optimum viewing height. If you are considering mounting a LCD installation above a fireplace you must consider the temperature around the installation location and access the suitability of you chosen location. LCD Screens don't get as hot as plasma but be careful not to exceed the manufacturers guidelines on operating temperatures.
  2. Larger LCD televisions can be quite heavy so you will need to consider what fixings you are going to use its rare that the appropriate fixings are supplied with the mount itself.
  3. You will need to consider if you will need help lifting the LCD screen on to the mounting bracket, its not a good idea to struggle on your own or in the case of a fireplace install use the mantel as mid way break point.
  4. Always consider using a professional LCD TV installation service where you can be sure your television is fixed securely and positioned correctly.
  5. LCD televisions do get warm and like good airflow around then, make sure you select the correct mount. Some mounts today only have 15mm clearance, you should always check the manufacturers guidelines.
  6. Before you consider drilling any holes please check the wall construction, location of central heating pipes, location of electrical sockets and potential clashes with the ring main cabling. We would advise using a stud, metal and cable locator.
